LITTLE ROCK Ark., (KTHV)- The Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport sent out their first flight Sunday to the nation's Capitol. To commemorate the event they held a cere! mony and had a water cannon salute. The flight is direct and just over two hours saving people lots of time.
"It's pretty much a whole day each way with layovers and everything so it's nice to be able to leave in the evening and not get in real real late is so nice for me cause I got to spend the whole day with my family," says Vera Chenault. Chenault works with UAMS and frequents D.C.
Airline Directors say they spent the last two years working on adding this flight and added ten new employees to complete the project. Sunday also served as the first event in the renamed Bill and Hilary Clinton National Airport.
